MA: MATH

    MA 101 College Mathematics. A survey course for students majoring or minoring in fields other than mathematics. Topics include real number system expressions, equations, and applying the techniques of algebra, emphasizing practical elementary mathematics. Not applicable toward a major or minor. First semester, three credit hours.

    MA 102 College Algebra. A review of elementary algebra. Stress on the concept relation and function, algebraic functions and their graphs. Not applicable toward a major or minor in mathematics. Three credit hours. Entrance determined by placement examination or ACT scores.

    MA 105 Transcendental Functions. A review of exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric functions and their graphs. Three credit hours. Prerequisite: MA 102 or satisfactory score on placement examination or ACT scores.

    MA 108 Mathematics of Finance. A study of simple interest, bank discount, installment buying, trade and cash discounts, retailing problems, taxes, depreciation, annuities, investments, and insurance. Not applicable toward a major or minor in mathematics. Three credit hours.
